Transient Array Radio Telescope

TART: Open-source Aperture-Synthesis Radio Telescope

Live Views of the Radio Sky

TART was designed from the ground up to be easily installed and easy to use. Build your own aperture synthesis radio telescope, understand how it works and share your results with the world. Use TART to explore and track radio sources in real-time.

Focus on What Matters

Enter the exciting world of radio astronomy

TART is open-source, hosted by the Electronics Research Foundation in New Zealand and forms a worldwide network of radio telescopes. You can modify, access and explore every part of a modern aperture synthesis radio telescope. Raw data can be examined, the array layout modified and more.

Collaborate

The TART team on has an array of interesting research projects at all levels from citizen science through undergraduate, to M.Sc and Ph.D projects. New members are welcome, and we can help with joint supervision of student projects with one of the partner insitutions.
